Sales Training

We cover telephone sales, face-to-face selling and high status consultative selling. We can take our principles, activities and exercises and map them to your native sales method to help it come to life in your experiential workshops. The use of actors breathes fun and authenticity into sales simulations and attendees get the benefit of practicing their sales skills in a challenging and safe environment. (Instead of in front of customers!) We can also provide you with activities on crucial skill development such as- listening, questioning, open mind-set, understanding personality styles, creating impact, presenting solutions, building relationships, challenging customers, closing and negotiation.

We will work closely with you to understand the needs of your sales team so the scenarios and activities are customised and relevant to your industry. If your holding a sales conference why not add an element of experiential learning to it with an actor’s simulation, challenging you’re sales peoples thinking. Managers are a key element to embedding successful sales training and we can also help you with your sales coaching programs to ensure you get maximum return on investment

Role Play and simulations

We can provide you actors to use in your sales skills practice sessions, this is not like the role play often dreaded by learners, experienced actors, brings role play to life because the situations are more realistic. It highlights and demonstrates workplace problems, often triggering ‘Eureka’ moments. Actors are better than team members because they can play different characters at very short notice and often in a more effective way than self-conscious learners.

There is nothing customers hate more than a sales person on their own agenda, this is how it shouldn’t be done!

What our clients are saying....

Every training has been highly engaging and memorable--reps still talk about concepts that Debra taught them years ago, probably because they got to practice them in a safe environment where mistakes are always turned into teachable moments. In addition, Debra has consistently demonstrated an ability to adapt to the needs of the team to be trained, customizing materials and actively learning about the business in advance of the training.

Anne Boynton-Trigg - VP, Export Sales and Marketing | Scholastic

I have attended a BTEC Sales course delivered by Debra and her team. The quality of the training was the best I have ever experienced, and really changed the way in which I worked. Working with the actors helped to bring everything to life in a controlled yet challenging manner. My sales improved afterwards, and I’ve since had two promotions. I would highly recommend Debra – anytime

Bernadette Fagan - Head of School Partnerships | Frog Education

Debra and her team are warm and approachable, phenomenally knowledgeable about our business and our market (which makes the role-playing elements of the training so meaningful), and manage to walk that difficult line between being powerpoint-free and high energy whilst never cheesy or forced.

Emma Whale - Product Marketing Director Middle East | Pearson

Debra and her team have worked extensively with my team designing, refining and delivering sales and coaching training. Among the high value Debra's group brings to the table is the ability to understand the customer and selling situation in all its richness and use their acting skills to bring those situations to life in a way that challenges those being trained.

Nancy Forsyth - SVP Sales Learning & Development, North American Higher Education | Pearson

I’ve attended a few of DTS's training events. They worked with me to improve my sales and negotiating skills. What really impressed me with the training was how dynamic the training team were. Debra and her acting team were able to bring workplace situations to life, making the whole experience much more rewarding.

Ravi Chal - Founder | Future Pharmacy

Debra has an astounding gift for getting very quickly to the customer's needs. She takes the time to understand the exact needs and comes up with innovative ways to stimulate the teams. She stands out from the crowd.

Presentation Skills Training

Our performance professionals and actors can really help to bring your presentation skills training to life. The use of actors breathes fun and authenticity into simulations and attendees get the benefit of experiencing good and bad presentations before they work on their own. For example you can begin your workshop with what we call a false start, an actor takes the beginning of the workshop without the participants knowing they are an actor. They would demonstrate a lot of the bad habits people might have and the participants experience it. This is followed by the big reveal, debrief and feedback, this gets your session of to a dynamic and memorable start.

Actors can also help by taking the vocal and impact sessions on your workshop sharing with participants the secrets of performance, delivery, engagement, energy and how to breathe and handle nerves. Coming from professionals there is always more buy in and commitment to these sessions which participants often find uncomfortable.

If you need new life breathing into your courses we can also help with course design and proven interactive exercises that will challenge and engage participants helping to make your presentation skills training more memorable. Whether you want the essentials, a master class or one to one coaching before an important event we can work closely with you to understand the needs of your team or the individual so the exercises or resources are customised and focused.

Don't just take our word for it...

I've used actors in the past and have had reservations about just how effective some of the interventions have been. I have to say I had none of those reservations with the guys from DTS. They were fabulous! What I think really worked was the idea of getting delegates to express their emotions before they even realised they were in a learning situation, which created real and genuine situations for people to learn from.

We found DTS to be very professional, responsive, organised an a pleasure to work with. The actors were very well received by the participants and programme was a huge success; winning the 'People Development Programme of the Year' award with the LPI. I can happily recommend Debra to you if you are looking for actors to support your development programmes.

Anne Nash - Co-founder of The Learning Space | Enabling innovation in Corporate L&D

Debra and her team provided a powerful and compelling element to our leadership programme using professional actors/ facilitators who were able to fully immerse learners in challenging and stimulating scenarios instantly and completely. Their ability to do this and then facilitate the learning was essential to the success of this programme, and I would fully recommend Debra and her organisation to anyone wishing to achieve likewise.

Personal Development Training

At DTS we take personal development very seriously because employees take it very seriously and I am sure it’s a priority for you to. In a business environment where people are moving jobs every 2/3 years and the skills gap is getting bigger, we want to help you retain your talent and get the most out of your people while they are with you. If you give them life-changing training they can use throughout their careers and in their everyday lives they will repay you with commitment and loyalty.

We can supply you with experienced business actors that breathe fun and authenticity into your workshops and there is a real impact, something different that gives the training a lift above other types of personal development programs. Participants don’t have to role-play, the actors do it for them, giving them the freedom to give feedback and hold meaningful discussions on the behaviours. Using actors allows you to highlight and demonstrate workplace problems, often triggering ‘Eureka’ moments. Actors are better than team members because they can play different characters at very short notice and often in a more effective way than self-conscious learners.

We can also provide you with activities on crucial skill development such as- listening, questioning, open mind-set, understanding personality styles, personal impact, building relationships, challenging conversations etc. If you’re holding a conference why not add an element of experiential learning to it with an actor’s simulation, which is dynamic fun and challenges your peoples thinking.

“don’t cry over stolen milk!” Passive aggressive behaviour is the most destructive in the work place

Don't just take our word for it...

Training that sticks - Training that is applied - Training that is actionable, Training that is experiential. DTS deliver this. I must say I was slightly sceptical at first to utilise actors in professional training. However, the experience, expertise and most of all the actionable tips and execution make this method of training a must.

Mike Sweet - Entrepreneurial Enabler | Entrepreneurial Spark

I have been lucky enough to attend a few of Dramatic Training Solutions courses now. Every course/session has been extremely well facilitated, interactive and engaging all the way through. Light hearted and fun, the sessions are involving and I have used many of these valuable lessons in my own business and cannot speak highly enough of the way DTS work.

Diversity & Unconcious Bias Training

Everyone has biases because it is almost human nature and part of our survival mechanism is to put people into categories and make shortcuts based on our experience, its build into our brains. For most people this is happening at a subconscious level and immediate decisions are made without any awareness and they would be shocked to think they are making decisions about people based on stereotypes. We all like to think we are being more rational and open, living in a world where we are focused on diversity and equality.

It can be hard to put a spotlight on these biases in the work place and most training on the subject is more about information and the rules and what you really need is light bulb moments and self-awareness.  Using actors in your unconscious bias training programmes helps to explore these issues in a safe environment. Using drama based training performances based on situations your staff may find themselves in; you can hold a mirror up to biases. Your facilitators will be able to explore how your staff can make the small changes that will make a big difference. We can also help with writing scripts and scenarios customised to your exact needs and challenges

We can also provide you with activities to help with – awareness of bias on key business issues such as recruitment, performance management and customer service, understanding the impact of unconscious bias on relationships team spirit and motivation, having the confidence to call bias and give feedback.

If your holding a sales conference why not add an element of experiential learning to it with an actor’s simulation, challenging you’re peoples thinking.
